With the name „Neolithic Heart of Orkney“, the Unesco World Heritage list accounts for four sites on Mainland, the main Island of the Orkneys.
The Stone-Circle of Brodgar takes a special role amongst the Megalith sites in Great Britain and Europe. The diameter is 104 meters. Only 2 other Stone-Circles are lager, the ones of Avebury and of Stanton Drew in England. Further the cirle shape is extremly precise. Today there are still 27 Megaliths standing, from 2,1 - 4,7 meter high stones.
